Grant Hottle

For Lane Departure, I am thrilled to show my comic work for the first time in a gallery setting. Illustration and comic art have been a huge part of my development as an artist, where clarity is more centered than abstraction. Old Seguin is a collaboration with writer Tobias Peterson (Professor of English at Clark) and tells a coming of age story of four friends in suburban Texas at the end of the nineties as they walk thirty miles to the town of Old Seguin, mimicking the steps of the ill-fated explorer Cabeza de Vaca.
