Brian Shannon

I am a printmaker and love to make etchings in my studio in the Pearl District of Portland.

During the various Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020 and 2021, I began a series of mixed media drawings at home on the kitchen table. I have a collection of seedpods and corals and also gathered natural objects growing in my yard as my subject. I made sketches of these forms and added wild color combinations inspired by all the coronavirus cell images repeatedly shown in the media and on the internet. I titled the work “Disperse Series”.
