Graphic Design: Selections

Jennifer Hicks

Artist Statement: Color and composition are two of the main concepts that inspire me to create- whether that is with watercolors, oils, pens, colored pencils, or creating digital art. I love playing with color palettes, texture, and pattern and how that corelates with composition, beauty and everyday irony.

Bio: Jennie is Graphic Design major with a love for fine art, illustration and story telling. She hopes to one day be writing and illustrating children's books and designing patterns and illustrations that communicate joy, beauty, courage and hope to the world through a variety of mediums while acknowledging the most important medium one can speak through is how one chooses to live life!

Heidi Pratt

Artist Statement: I like to experiment with all forms of art; however, my preferred medium is traditional with pencil and paper and digital drawing. What motivates me the most to create is creating something entirely new and challenging myself. I also find inspiration from seeing art from other artists and figuring out their process, motives, concepts, and ideas.  Since I love to create unique things, I also love building interesting stories around my artwork which are often inspired by media of many forms.

Bio: While inspired by the world around her, she loves to indulge in both the dark and sorrowful as well as the bright and joyous. Mixing and matching these various emotions in a visual form fascinates her and drives her to becoming an better artist. Regularly, her creations involve subjects, media, and concepts that ignites her artistic passion; often created with the intent to express her interests to the people around her.
