Title of Piece: “Ascending Bind”

Medium: Digital photograph

Dimensions: 20" x 14"

Artist Statement: This shot captured a climber applying tape to the hands of another climber. A climber’s life is in the hands of their partner; two must act as one to ascend a mountain. The tape is almost a ritual of preparation for things to come.

Bio: Photography I feel has a variety of uses within society. Some practical, some purely aesthetic. In my photography, it is more about my experience of taking the photo and trying to convey that through the lens. I most enjoy immersive street photography, black and white film and outdoor activities. My goal is to work in photojournalism and continue to create artistic images for others to enjoy.

Title of Piece: “Light in Dark Places”

Medium: Digital photograph

Dimensions: 16" x 20" each

Artist Statement: This photo series focused on finding situations where unique lighting at night created engaging images. By focusing on varieties of light color, intensity and different sources I created surreal imagery that only exists in fleeting moments in the middle of the night. (3/10 of a series)

Title of Piece: “Low & Slow”

Medium: Silver gelatin print

Dimensions: 5" x 7"

Artist Statement: The only car on the road one crisp morning in the fall. The car almost looked as if it was asking to be photographed. I really enjoyed how the lines of metal siding complimented the flowing trim of this well cared for car.

Title of Piece: “Standing Alone”

Medium: Digital photograph

Dimensions: 12" x 18"

Artist Statement: We are all in these crazy times of isolation. We still feel the light of the glory days setting on our backs. The days of everyone's freedom to walk, have fun and to live without risk are closing in the near future as we look on to see the wasteland of night rising. Our new future of ever lonesome darkness is growing.

Bio: I’m just your average country boy wearing a green John Deere hat and a year-round farmer’s tan. I’ve grown up on the long gravel roads of CDA Idaho, listening to George Strait on the radio. You can catch me bucking at the county fair.

Title of Piece: “After Brunch”

Medium: Silver gelatin print

Dimensions: 5" x 7" each

Artist Statement: It was my first time out with any sort of camera, and my Pentax isn’t digital. My dear friend and model came ready to fulfill my photo shoot dreams and I remember feeling embarrassed to tell her I didn’t have any sort of plan. I experimented, potentially trespassed, and most importantly, I engaged with my friend without any distractions from a digital world. This is why I love film, it encourages me to connect. I have plenty of film that I will never be able to use but to me, there is no wasted roll.

Bio: Currently my process is very intuitive based, and my expression takes many forms including, but not limited to, photography. When I consider process the thing that I find myself focusing on more and more is the beginning. It’s getting the camera out, putting gesso on the canvas. It’s sanding the hood of my car while I think about what I want to paint on it. Even sitting down just to plan. I find that starting can be the hardest but most necessary part of the process, thus my fascination with it. When it comes to goals, mine is to get better.

Title of Piece: “The Diner”

Medium: Digital Photograph

Dimensions: 18" x 27"

Artist Statement: This photograph was taken at an abandoned diner in Vancouver, WA. This is a single exposure shot into a window with a spectacular reflection that creates the illusion of multiple spaces within the image.

Bio: I'm a 24 year old student that has returned to school after working in professional racing for several years. I plan to pursue a career in photography because that's where my passion is. I share my creativity by sharing my perspective. I strongly believe that creativity is a matter of interpretation within the eye of the beholder, and that it's a way to express yourself in a different manner than most people.

Title of Piece: “Vulnerability”

Medium: Silver gelatin print

Dimensions: 8" x 10"

Artist Statement: In this picture I chose to show a person in the vulnerable state of was getting out of the shower. The naked body is a beautiful thing and this image shows that a person doesn't need to be posing or showing off the beautiful and that a person’s body can be a work of art all on its own.

Title of Piece: “The Light Within”

Medium: Silver gelatin print

Dimensions: 8" x 10"

Artist Statement: The goal of this piece was to show that even in the darkest times, everyone has a light within. Especially in the times we are living in now it can be easy to feel alone and allow yourself to be engulfed by the darkness. It’s easy to forget that everyone has a light within their soul, and that it’s there to guide them even through the toughest times.

Bio: I am a 20 year old college student who is trying to gain as much information about the artist world as I can while getting a degree. My current goal is to finish my two-year degree and then move on to pursue a career in the arts. When creating my pieces, I am very inspired by things I am watching on TV or a movie that I saw - maybe even a book that I’ve read. These mediums inspire me to create a piece that represents how I felt about the story or the characters within.

Title of Piece: “Window Shopping”

Medium: Digital photograph

Dimensions: 16” x 23”

Artist Statement: My choice of subject is often based on what I’m going through, and my photos are reflections of my personality, the world around me, and the people who surround me. My project “Window Shopping” focuses on people’s dreams and how humans are often limiting themselves from being what they strive to be, either because they’re scared or locked up inside their comfort zone. This is a struggle for most people, including myself, and picturing this monotone reality is the key from my solitary confinement cell.

Bio: I love art in many of its manifestations and love to create little pieces that I invest myself in. I started doing photography in school and took a photography class at college.
